Recapitalisation - Regulator's Statement

Matthew Elderfield and his team in the Central Bank have advised in terms of further capitalisation:


Anglo Irish Bank
further 6.4bn needed for Recovery & Funding Bank

[22.9bn already given since nationalisation in early 2009.
Added requirement brings total cost of restructuring Anglo to 29.3bn]



AIB
- needs further 3bn recapitalisation


BOI
already has sufficient capital (to meet Prudent Capital Assessment Review standard)

EBS
NAMA hasn't given an indicative figure for EBS yet. Said they should prepare for 60% haircut though.

Irish Nationwide Building Society
PCAR study not done yet.

They need further 2.7bn. Brings total to 5.4bn.
